Tributes to Jamie Oatley

The Upminster dad who died in a road crash on Tuesday (16th July 2013) has been named by police as Jamie Oatley.
Jamie, whose 47th birthday would have been the following day, was pronounced dead at the scene. He had been walking his nine-year-old son home from Upminster Junior School after their sports day.

This tragedy has shocked many people in the Upminster Community, we have therefore created this page to allow people to leave their message of condolence to the family or Mr Oatley.

    I heard he also pushed his son out of harms way protecting his child to the end. my condolences go out to all his friends and family. may he rest in peace looking over you all.

    A terrible thing for a young boy to witness, this tragedy is simply devastating.

    We didn’t know Jamie personally but his son goes to my son’s school and plays tennis with him.
    We are all still so shocked at the tragic ness of this accident and loss of a life.
    Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr Oatley’s family particularly his wife and son.
